Obituary of Stephen W Griffin

Long Valley – Stephen W. Griffin, 67, passed away on February 14, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Morristown to the late Gerald and Margaret (Yancho) Griffin, he was a long-time resident of Long Valley. Mr. Griffin was a self-employed builder for over 40 years until his retirement in 2010. He was a veteran of the United States Army, from 1970-1972. He was a quiet caring gentleman who was dedicated to his family and loved the ocean and the beach. He will be remembered as a craftsman, collector, and for his creative mind that always pursued new and interesting things. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Edward, and Gerald. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, the former Marie Martinelli, his son Matthew Stephen Griffin, and seven nieces and nephews. A private service will take place at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen’s memory are requested by the family to a charity of one’s choice.
