Obituary of John P O'Brien

John P. O'Brien passed away peacefully on May 17, 2014 surrounded by his family in Mendham. He was 86. Born in New York NY, he lived in Queens and Saratoga before moving to Mendham 39 years ago. Mr. O'Brien started his career as an attorney for NY Telephone and held positions in sales, marketing and administrative services before retiring from AT&T in 1991. He served in the armed forces and received a BA from Saint John's University and then Saint John's Law School in 1954. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Patricia McGinley O'Brien and 9 children: Mary Ellen O'Brien, Patrick, John, Eileen O'Brien Davis, Mary Beth O'Brien Stow, Terrence, Timothy, Christopher and Michael. He is also survived by his sister Jane Dunnigan and his 32 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitations will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham. Funeral mass on Wednesday, 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Church, Mendham. Interment Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham.
