We laid our father to rest today, likely the most painful moment in each of our lives.
Yesterday's wake was indeed an Irish wake - a loud celebration of his life to which few can lay claims.
The only noise makers missing but certainly watching were Uncle Jer, Uncle George, Aunt Margaret, Uncle Bobby and Tommy. Our thoughts go to his sister Aunt Jane who is always in our thoughts.
Today's internment was more solemn. As Johnny said on the pulpit, "a person's heart is not measured by the love they give, but by the love they receive. And our father's heart was giant."
This day will end but our memories and life lessons will never. You made us all we are.
My life will always go on and be exceptional because I am your son.
