Marianne, it's been six years today that you - my best friend of more than 45 years - departed this earth. I wish I could say that it hurts any less, but it doesn't.... Few people in life have had friendships which lasted so long. You knew every broken heart I ever suffered, every barrel race I ever won or lost, as well as most of my thoughts before I even had them.
I'm happy to say that, right now, you'd be proud of me; I made it through my grief and have become strong.
I know you're in heaven enjoying being with your parents and all the animals you've loved as well as former boyfriends who've gone before you. I hope to live a life good enough to see you again.
