Memories of the days I spent with Uncle Harry and Aunt Carmela just a few weeks ago in mid-February will be with me always. Uncle Harry's sense of pride and respect for his children and grandchildren was evident in his eyes and subtle nods when he pointed to photos on the family room wall or on tables and shelves around the house. What will be with me forever, though, is his obvious pride in his wife, my Aunt Carmela, whose accomplishments he respected and valued as much as his own. I began to see how much her work in Community Hope meant to him, because of Alan, of course, but also because of the enormous challenges she faced with persistence and courage. That community, Community Hope, is part of the life work Uncle Harry leaves behind, along with his own outstanding accomplishments and a wonderful family that he worked to support day after day after day. I will miss him terribly.
