Obituary of Georgia Virginia Robb
Georgia V. Robb, of Mendham, NJ passed away peacefully March 29, 2009 after 96 fun filled years with us. She was born in Carbondale, Pa. to Antoinette and Consolato Prattico on February 22, 1913. She was raised and educated in Paterson, NJ along with her beloved and happy family of two brothers and four sisters. While there she worked for Barbizon in the ladies garment section for many years.
She married William A. Robb from Chester, NJ in 1947 and they and his daughter made their home in Mendham.
She worked for Maiden Form in Morristown until they relocated in Puerto Rico. She loved working with the public and worked in Mendham's Foodtown for 19 years, retiring in 1988.
Following her retirement she volunteered at the Holly Manor Nursing Home for 7 years in their art classes. She joined the Garabrant Senior Center in 1974 and was very active there for many years. She found great pleasure in volunteering and was known for her leadership at the center and especially for her joke telling at meetings. She also volunteered her leadership for the Mendham Borough and Township 4th of July parades for 16 years. During that time the Senior Center received numerous awards and recognition. She will be sorely missed by many she touched with her contagious sense of humor.
Mrs. Robb was preceded in death by her husband Bill her step-daughter, Gloria Jean Perrone and her grandson, Jeffrey Perrone.
She is survived by her step-son Fred Perrone of Bedminster, NJ three grandsons, Peter and Dora Perrone, Bradford and Jennifer Perrone, Chris Perrone of Bedminster, five great grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews from California, Georgia Fl. and Arizona.
