Obituary of E. Gregory Roome

E. Gregory Roome died suddenly on July 8, 2012 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 79. Born in Asbury Park, NJ he lived in Freehold, NJ before moving to Brookside, NJ in 1960. He received a B.S. Degree in 1954 from Brown University. Greg was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Sigma Psi Honor Society. He served in the Army from 1956-1958. Mr. Roome was a Mechanical and Environmental Engineer for Jersey Central Power and Light for 39 years before he retired in 1993. He and his wife Mary Jane were avid square dancers and belonged to the Reelers and the Mountain Squares clubs. Survivors include his wife Mary Jane Roome (Taylor); one daughter Susan Nelson and her husband Geoff of Addison, VT, and one brother George William Roome and his wife Lois of Freehold, NJ. He is also survived by several cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Service Thursday 10:30am at The Hilltop House Fellowship Hall, 14 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Interment Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham.
