Obituary of Edward Andrew Donald

Edward Andrew Donald passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024. He was 81 years old.

Born in Concord, CA to the late Richard and Carol (Sparrow) Donald. He lived in San Diego for the past 24 years, moving there from South Dakota, and previously resided in Mendham from 1986 to 1996 where he and his family were parishioners of St. Joseph Church.

Ed worked in human resources having served as the Director of Compensation and Benefits for companies such as Nabisco and Gateway Computers.  Ed enjoyed playing golf, reading with his book club friends and spending time with his family.  

Ed is predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Helen M. Donald. Ed is survived by his three daughters Brooke Donald, Allison Donald (and her husband Dino), Megan King (and her husband Joe), his sister Kathy Amestoy, his six grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was loved by everyone who had the great fortune to know him. A truly remarkable, kind, loving man and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, from 4 to 7pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, at 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 11am at St. Joseph Church, followed immediately by interment at Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
