Obituary of Robert Aromando
Robert (Coach Bob) Aromando, 85, of Bedminster, New Jersey, passed away with his family by his side on July 18, 2024.
Robert was born on July 1, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up in East Orange, and attended Northeastern University and Montclair State University. He served in the National Guard. Robert met his wife, Marguerite (Marano) in Newark, and they married on September 30, 1961. Robert and Marguerite raised three children in Whippany, New Jersey.
He had a long career in the printing industry. He worked in Boston for Mark Burton as The Executive VP of Manufacturing and then was the VP of Print Press at LP Thebault Co in Parsippany NJ. He retired at the age of 62 and went on to coach both boys and girls Track & Field and Cross Country at the Pingry School in Basking Ridge and Watchung Hills High School.
He loved music and practicing his guitar, playing chess, studying Spanish, building puzzles, visiting Arizona, watching the Yankees, reading and spending quality time with family. He was a man of great faith and was a parishioner of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Peapack, New Jersey.
Robert was an avid runner, completing 13 marathons and winning many awards for his skill and dedication to the sport. He was considered one of the top masters runners of New Jersey and achieved a record time of 2:33:46 at The Ocean State Annual Marathon.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marguerite Aromando; daughters, Stacey (Anthony Ruffo) Aromando and Cynthia (Paul) Russo, daughter-in-law Lori Aromando, sister Rosalie Guerin, brother-in-law, Anthony Bove, sister-in-law Carmella LaMola. Grandchildren; Alexis (Anthony) Bachmann, Robert Aromando (Fiancé Courtney Chandonnet), Hailey Aromando, Derek Ruffo, Michael, Matthew, and Mia Russo, and great grandchildren; Ava and Tino Robert Bachmann. “Brother from another Mother,” Ed Donoghue (Candace).
He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Marie (Marcantuono) Aromando, his son Robert Aromando, his brother Anthony Aromando, sister Janet Bove, brother-in-law, Joe Marano and brother-in-law Walter Guerin
Robert will be missed dearly by all.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, from 4-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 23, at 10:30 AM at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, 129 Main Street, Peapack. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Towers to Tunnel Organization
