Hello Kenny and Colleen this is Katie Houghton. I went to look up your mother to see if I could contact her to reconnect her and my mom, Angela like we did a few years back. I was so sorry to see that your mom had passed last September. Please accept our belated condolences, I want to tell you that I remembered Althea as one of the sweetest kindest ladies in the neighborhood. I will never forget when I was a young child when she was close friends with my mom that she cradled my small face in her hand, and told me how beautiful I was (when quite frankly, I thought I was the ugly duckling of the family ha ha); that was Althea. She went out of her way to be kind to people. And my mother, Angela is still with us (age 94) and lives with me in Hawthorne and she too very much had fond memories of Althea and enjoyed her friendship. I’m only sorry that I could not get them together to have lunch one more time like we did before Althea moved. May your memories of Althea be your blessing. (PS my mom’s live in aid is named Althea!)
