I am heartbroken over my dear friend Erik, we shared many great times, wonderful memories. I was fortunate to get to know Erik, his wife Susan, and dog/son Jack over a number of years. I'll always remember his kindness, intelligence, wit, unbelievable bravery, but mostly just what a great friend he was to me. He spoke lovingly and often of his Mom and family. One of my greatest joys ever, was getting to puppysit Jack, who was the most beautiful, loving boy, and just filled my heart with love. Erik would always be there to listen or laugh, and have something thoughtful in return, or some sage advice. He made you feel like he cared when he listened, because he did. So many wonderful memories, I am forever grateful to have gotten to know Erik, and cherish the times with him, Susan, and Jack. God Bless Erik Swenson, Susan who was his rock and a picture of grace, Jackyboy, his Mom, family and friends. Until we meet again Erik, take care of Jackyboy...

This is such a sad event. Erik and I worked together for several years, during which I came to be in awe not only of his technical competence but of the professional and highly diplomatic way he was able to deal with all levels of staff and management. We remained friends long after we stopped working together. He was one of the finest men I ever met, and I will greatly miss him. His passing is a great loss, not only to his family and loved ones, but to his many friends. I am sure he will be remembered in all of our hearts for a long time.
