Obituary of Ranga Rao Velagaleti

Ranga Rao Village Scholarship Fund Our father was born and raised in a small farming village in rural Andhra Pradesh, India. His parents fostered in all their children a strong work ethic and value for education. Through great perseverance, Dad not only earned his Ph. D. from Delhi University but went on to a successful career in the sciences that spanned the UK, Nigeria and the United States. In an effort to give back, our father began a scholarship program for academically-gifted students in his and eight surrounding villages. The program provided a stipend as well as money for books and supplies. This year over 62 students earned a scholarship, and well over 300 have been supported since its inception in 1997. We welcome your donation to our father's cause in hopes that others like him can live up to their full potential-regardless of income, caste, or creed-through the power of learning.
