I tried to call Jim today to wish him a happy birthday, as I have done every year for 40+ years. I became worried when I heard a message that the phone number was not in service.
I am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing.
Jim was such a kind and gentle soul, and such an intelligent and well-travelled person. He had so many diverse interests. We always had such good conversations. I loved hearing about his trips! The last time we had spoken, he was talking about visiting a friend in AZ, and I was looking forward to seeing him during that trip.
My heart goes out to Jim's family. He loved and was so proud of all of you.
May his memory be eternal.
Rest in peace, my friend.

Having worked for Jim or JD as I called him.. for 26 years I knew first hand what a wonderful man he was. He started a visiting physician home service in Madison Med Ctr in the early 80’s. Turns out home bound people needed a physician to evaluate and order a nursing service to come out and care for them. Many could not pay the 50 charge for the Dr to come out. JD could not say no and he paid for countless people to be seen out of his own pocket. Thankfully later he found out about doing mobile insurance exams (and later clinical trials , DNA, drug and alcohol testing, ect.) and affiliated with a National company. Through hard work and determination he built one of the most successful branch offices in the country. After he retired he continued to mentor others and help when he could. He knew every town, nook and cranny in NJ. We remained close spoke often and would have lunch every few months.. he beamed when telling me what each of his children and their families were up to.. he was a great story teller and avid traveler. Not long ago he went on a cross country trip to help move a friend and visited several of the Presidential Libraries along the way. which he said were magnificent. He was a positive light in the world and a cherished friend..

Jim was very humble, down to earth, honest and a caring friend. Jim was a mentor always there to give his wonderful business insight. He was the real deal, a wonderful caring person that was always there for me. He always there to help me with his past business experience and provide correct guidance. He always goes the extra mile to help his friend. I always remember Jim for his honesty and VERY strong determination. I had spoken to Jim a couple days before the incident. At that time he was very positive and sounded as going to fight back with his strong determination. He was a person who never liked to sit down ideally, keep himself busy. “I'm so lucky to have had Jim as my friend and mentor.”

My condolences to the Dwyer family. Jim was such a special friend to Jennifer and I. We had a wonderful friendship over the last 25 years. Our favorite times were meeting with him at EMSI conventions. We would always meet for breakfast or dinners. Just to have more time together. So many wonderful conversations about travel and great food and wine. Jim was a mentor always there to give his wonderful business insight. He was the real deal a wonderful caring person that was always there for his family and friends. I had a wonderful call with Jim several months ago. We talked about him coming out to Sonoma for a visit when he felt better . We feel so fortunate that Jim was our friend. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. RIP my dear friend.
Robert, Jennifer Dahut
