As G.K. did, I grew up around the firehouse. My earlier memories of G.K. were from Sunday mornings when Greg would bring him down as my father did me. Years later that kid became a junior firefighter. He had heart and passion to help his town as well as his brothers and sisters in the department. He was driven. He learned quick and always wanted to do more. G.K. as a man was smart, funny, and had a good heart. I will miss him greatly.

Gk, my friend, my brother; it is hard to grasp your life was taken so early and unexpectedly. You had accomplished so much in the 26 years you had with us. You saved many homes, lives and families with your service on the Fire Department. You were a great friend to so many, and a great father to your son! Your bright spirit will live on through your son everyday, and we will never forget you! Already, I miss your battle cry, the summer chaos at your house and in your pool, all our days spent fishing, the long nights on the back roads and fire pits at your house. You and I were like brothers kid! I will always be here for your mom, sister and family! Rest In Peace GK you were one of a kind and we love you G! ---Kevin

To Greg and family,
We are so deeply sorry to hear of your loss. There are no words that can match the pain of losing a child, no mater what the age. Let there be comfort in all your memories...and each time you see your son's image in the face of HIS son. God bless you all.

GK my neighbor protector my friend. We had our differences, you and I, but they faded as I watched you grow to manhood. In the early days, I feared for your safety- especially in the pool. No wait, in the lake as well! One time, I found you swimming in the lake during a thunderstorm and I sent you home, only to find you swimming in the pool! your youthful enthusiasm for life never faded, though you did become more cautious over the years. :)
I remember your bravery, first into a fire, your love of animals and your mother and family, your hackles going up as you guarded this place. One time, I asked you to help me with a phone co. employee who was acting strangely and you came right over. You also chased an interloper down our front drive on foot! You watched over this place with fervor. You protected us all. And you loved your son and he loved you. I am so happy you got to experience that ultimate love, but so sad that you left us all so soon. Marie, Tara, Casey, Gregory Kevin III, my heart bleeds for you all, and for all G's friends. A good boy, a better man. I will never forget youanjd I will watch over your family. so sad...

Our Son and brother, we have a big hole in our hearts. You were part of our world and life. And now we honor you with our love and tears.
There is no words that can describe our loss.
But this is not what you were about, you became a father, you were a brother to Tara, Matthew, Amanda, Daniel, Erin and Ryan. You also played a big part in Justins life. You also became part of your nephews life Jack. We are very glad that you were able to witness the birth of your son, be able to hold, kiss, touch and change a stinky diaper. You also loved someone who loved you back and that was Casey. Now she has to carry on, to raise your son alone. But she will not be alone, because she has all of us to count on to help and to love your child.
There is so much we want to say, but we want you to know, we all love you.
Love Dad and Mama Kim

GK: For as long as I’ve known you, you always looked out for other people, whether they were your family you loved so very much or they were complete strangers needing help with some emergency. I’d like to think that somewhere you are tossing a ball to Buddy while you are still keeping an eye out for those you love and left behind.

I am beyond saddened to come across this obituary to G.K. He was a fun guy with a big heart and a great personality. I wish I knew about his passing so I could have formally paid my respects. I will always remember the good times we had together, Tara included.
Marie, I wish I could say something to make this better. Be strong and know that you raised a respectful young man who was a friend to many.
