Obituary of Barbara Olandesi

Barbara Ida Priest Olandesi, 88, passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2021.

Born in 1932, in New York City, to parents Daniel Badger Priest and Florence (Comingore) Priest, Barbara was raised in Forest Hills, NY. She attended the Kew-Forest School, Forest Hills H.S. and New York University where she majored in Art. Besides being an artist, Barbara worked as a dental hygienist before raising children.

Barbara lived at Holly Manor Nursing home, Mendham NJ and Chester, NJ where she attended First Congregational Church of Chester. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, music, watching classic movies on TCM and traveling to Florida with her family. Prior to Chester, she lived in Panther Valley, NJ after raising a family with her husband in East Paterson & Wayne, NJ.   

Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Frank Robert Olandesi, her sister Betty Decker, brother Daniel B. Priest and son Frank R. Olandesi Jr. She is lovingly survived by daughter Diane M. Hopkins and her husband Brian F. Hopkins of Chester, NJ her son Michael F. Olandesi of Toms River NJ, and daughter- in-law Jackie Olandesi of Wayne, NJ. Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren Katie A. Hopkins, Cynthia M. Hopkins, Frankie R. Olandesi, Matthew F. Hopkins, and great granddaughter Lily A. Hopkins-Campbell.

Visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham, NJ 07945 on Saturday, February 13th from 10-11am followed by Funeral Service at 11am in the funeral home.  Interment to immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd. North Arlington, NJ 07031.
