Obituary of Robert Adam Felberg
Robert Felberg M.D. passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 15, 2020. He was only 52 years old.
Born in Miami, FL, to parents Norman and Joyce (Nadley) Felberg, Robert attended and graduated from Tulane University, received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson Medical College and attended Yale University School of Medicine for his Neurology residency. He served as the Stroke Director for both Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, and Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He finally served as the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ until Jan 2020. Dr. Felberg’s main interests were cerebrovascular neurology and telemedicine. Rob loved serving his patients and focused on underserved communities. Dr. Felberg was published in several peer reviewed journals and participated in multiple clinical trials as either primary investigator or executive committee member. He helped run one of the first randomized trials for hypothermia following cardiac arrest and participated in several of the early trials on carotid stenting.
Rob had an amazing sense of humor, was an avid reader of history, loved camping and hiking, investing, and science, along with cheering on his favorite sports team, the Saints. He rode in the Thoth Mardi Gras parade for the 6 years he lived in New Orleans. Robert met his wife in Philadelphia at a Univ Penn internship in the summer of 1989 and they were married at the Glen Forde Mansion in PA on April 12, 1997.
Rob is predeceased by his father, Norman Felberg, and is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandra Hill Felberg, children Anna and Nolan Felberg, Mother Joyce Felberg, brother Marc Felberg, and sisters Jodi and Linda Felberg.
Robert was laid to rest at Hilltop Cemetery in Mendham, NJ in December. Interment was private.
