Dear Pete, Elise and Allison, We are thinking of you as you mourn the loss of your beautiful Karen. It has been a privilege and an honor to be Karen's friend. It was always a lot of fun to be with Karen; whether it volunteering at St Joseph School or in our Book Club or an out and about shopping. When Karen was President of SJS Home School Association, the whole school community; children, teachers and families benefited from her generosity, hard work and wisdom. One of my favorite saying from Karen was related to Christmas decorations, and she said "More is more!" (that was a good thing we both agreed!) I wish we could be with you today, but know that we are praying for you in Florida.

So sorry for the loss of Karen. I’ll never forget all the good times when our family would gather at your parents house when we were younger and swimming in the neighbors pool.
Also will always treasure our last ND football game we went together some 9 years ago when ND played Stanford. Having a beer at a local ND pub with family was the end to a perfect day!

I was so sorry to get the email from Magnificat about Karen's death. I graduated with Karen in 1973 (as we were known as the Stars of '73) and I have lots of great memories of her as we experienced our high school days. Please know that I will be keeping you all in my prayers at this difficult time. Sending my deepest sympathies and virtual hugs from Cleveland.

Dear Pete, Elise and Allison, so very sorry for your loss. I was always so happy to meet your mom’s smiling face around town. She was always so kind to take time to talk and we would catch up on “ family happenings”. Her dry wit always left me laughing! Her devotion to her faith and her family were an inspiration. She will be sorely miss by our family. Love, Bob, Pat, Catherine and Patrick James.

I am so sorry for the loss of Karen. I am one of her cousins who knew her very early in life. Our family would gather every year at our grandparent’s house in Heidelberg Beach, Vermilion, Ohio for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Karen’s family was the furthest away and, understandably, would be the last to arrive. Their entrance was always a swirl of activity, with everyone in the family rising to greet them, exchange hugs, and share presents. They truly were the life of the party, and everyone enjoyed their company and positive energy.
Karen and Barb were showstoppers; they had that rare ability to light up any room and grab the group’s attention. They were natural comedians who always had an exciting adventure or two to share. They played off each other to everyone’s delight and amusement. The interaction increased the depth and color of their tales, pulled you into the story, and ensured you did not miss any of the details and plot twists. It was great theater and fun.
I will remember Karen for her sense of humor, intelligence, candor, sincere interest in others, thirst for knowledge, faith, confidence, commitment to family, and passionate desire to make the world a better place. She was special, a joy to visit with, and a wonderful teacher. Her wit, laughter, leadership, fashion sense, and storytelling will endure.
I will pray for her and hope I am good enough to see her in the next life.
God Bless

Dearest Peter , Elise, and Allison,
My heart is so very sad.I am sending you all my prayers and affection.
Karen was a sweetheart. So many happy memories I have. Her smile and giggle was captivating. Her heart so pure and loving. Oh how she loved her girls.
Karen was sunshine on a rainy day. We shared many great days at St Joseph School - a Camelot moment in our memories.
Karen was always so positive no matter what. I shall miss her light in this world. One of my most favorite parents and fellow teacher of all times
To you Peter, Elise, and Allison I send my deepest sympathy in this time of great loss. No one can fill her “Dorothy’s sparkling red Shoes”
There’s no place like home. And our Karen is now home and at peace
Loving
