Obituary of Angela G Wade

Angela G. Wade passed away on July 13, 2020. She was 97 years old.

Born in Netcong, NJ to Michael and Mary (née Martucci) Gallo, Angela grew up in Netcong and settled in Chester Township in 1964. She has resided in Basking Ridge for the past 12 years.

Angela graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth in 1944 and summarized her life’s devotion to her family and her faith in the following comment for her 40th College reunion: “I married with great love; I raised my children with great love; my grandchildren and I play with great love; for the last 40 years I volunteered for many causes with great love.” She was an active parishioner at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Peapack where she was a member of the Legion of Mary. She was the matriarch of a large and loving family who were inspired by her selfless devotion to her late husband and to all of her family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Philip M. Wade, Angela is survived by her daughters Mary W. Degnan (John), Cecilia C. Wade, Anita F. Wade and son Philip M. Wade Jr. MD, (Janet), grandchildren Philip James Degnan, Elena Degnan Brody, Cynthia C. Degnan, Katherine W. Longsworth, Sarah L. Weber, Anna C. Weber, Laura Weber Slaga and six great grandchildren.

Under current circumstances and out of concern for her family and friends, services will be limited to the immediate family with a family visitation on Saturday, July 18 at 9 am at the Bailey Funeral Home in Peapack, NJ and a funeral mass to follow at 11 am at St. Brigid Church in Peapack. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in Angela’s memory’s may be made to: St. Elizabeth University, Office of Institutional Advancement, 2 Convent Rd. Morristown, NJ 07960.
