Dear Cousins Mary, Cecilia, Anita and Philip,
As you gather this Saturday to celebrate your lovely mother Angela’s long & well-lived life, Mary Ellen & I extend our deepest sympathies to you. We will always remember and cherish her for her boundless cheerfulness, kindness and generosity.
As examples- #1. I can recall as if it were yesterday the sunny spring Sunday afternoon in 1984. I had taken my mother for our weekly outing from her nursing home. This time it was for a ride in the country in my latest, mid-life crisis (age42) car. When we stopped at Fox Lair Farm to say “Hi” to your mom & dad, Aunt Angela exclaimed “ How lovely, it’s Fire & Ice ! “ as she took in my mother and I in a white Corvette w. red interior. She insisted we come in despite my mother’s demurring.
Then , it was “ of course, you’ll join us for dinner”. A wonderful, very special treat for my mother who passed several months later.
#2. The Steuben Apple she send after my mother’s funeral that fall to thank me for the eulogy. It has been displayed in our homes ever since- even today- as a reminder of her kind thoughtfulness.
May you and the rest of her large and loving family be comforted at her passing by many fond memories as well. Warmly, Art & Mary Ellen
