I was blessed to have taken three courses given by Ptr. Sutton at the New York School of the Bible, most memorably his course on Ephesians. I really appreciated his teaching on Ephesians and was very encouraged by his response to my papers on that book. He was pleased with them, and one, he suggested, should be published. Although I did not try to publish it, I was encouraged that such a learned man of God would write that on my paper. He had graduated from Swarthmore two years before my older brother, which I found interesting especially since he was a math major, and my brother considers himself a math whiz, but unlike Rev. Sutton is an atheist psychiatrist and professor. So I thought of the parable of the women in the field. Some were taken, and others were left behind. He inspired me. His wife Maureen also taught a course in Christian counseling which inspired me. I love Ptr. Sutton to this day, and am grateful to Almighty God and His Son and the Holy Spirit that I was led to take his course, and humbly receive his teaching of the Word. Thank you good sir. I am looking forward some day -- perhaps soon as I am 80 years old -- to seeing you again in heaven. In Christ's service, Jeffrey

I read about Stanford's death in the Star Ledger. I am so sorry for your loss. Death of a loved one can be very distressing even if the person is elderly or sick. The Bible teaches us that death was not part of God's original plan. He wanted man to live forever, in perfect health, on a paradise earth. Man disobeyed God and brought about sin and death to the human race. God's plan will still be realized. Isaiah 55:11 states, "So my word that goes out of my mouth will be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly accomplish whatever is my delight. It will have sure success in what I send it to do." The Bible talks about a resurrection of those who have died. (Acts 24:15, John 5:28, 29) The word resurrection in the Bible literally means "a standing up again" and "revival of the dead". The provision for resurrection of the dead is a magnificent expression of God's undeserved kindness. It displays his wisdom and power and is a means by which his original purpose regarding the earth and humans will be carried out. JW.org has a free, online Bible Study format that will help you continue your interest in the Bible. Sincerely, Paula

Pastor Sutton was always there for me during the most pivotal moments of my life; my father’s illness, my marriage, my retirement, etc. The Lord blessed me through Pastor Sutton’s presence as he prayed and presented scripture that has enriched and nurtured my life forever. Our condolences to Maureen his loving helpmate, his daughters Virginia and Susan and the rest of the family.

I’ve know Stan for many years. He was a very kind compassionate man whose spiritual faith filled life was evident. He made an impression on me that I will always remember He showed how to be a more devoted Christian. My deepest sympathies to Maureen, Susan and family. Stanley was truly 1 in a million and will be missed.

I always looked forward to seeing Stan in the Pulpit at Calvary in Ringoes. He was the kindest of men and the epitome of a pastor/shepherd. I will never forget his graciousness to me, always thanking me for playing the piano for services and asking about my family. His wisdom was short and to the point and was much appreciated.
Maureen, you are in our thoughts and prayers! I look forward to the memorial service. God comfort and uphold you!
