Please accept our deepest sympathy. We spent many evenings with her at the Berkeley Swim Club listening to her stories and hearing how proud she was of her family. She always kept going with a smile on her face She will be truly missed.

Please accept my deepest heartfelt sympathy! I just learned from a friend at Long Hill Chapel that Alphra had gone to be with the Lord. I was deeply saddened but know that she is now with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ forever in heaven. As a missionary, I knew that Alphra was praying for me. She was kind, gentle, transparent, fascinating & genuinely concerned. She loved her family deeply. She often spoke of them with joy & pride. I have fond memories of our times together eating meals at restaurants in Mendham & riding around together in her car to see the sights. I was amazed at her energy & wit. She will be missed! But she has left a deep legacy of love for God & for those whom she cherished & loved. May God's comfort, love, presence & peace be with you at this time! With saddened heart, cherished memories & joy at knowing for certain that she is with the God she loved, for all eternity, Sylvia Adolfsen, Global Outreach Mission/MissionGo

Celeste and Family
I am saddened by your loss. However, as we celebrate the long and wonderful life of your mom, we know she is watching down from Heaven and happy now that she is closer to God.
I admired Alphra for her strength of character and her faith. Her kindness and graciousness will always live in my memory. If it wasn’t for her, I would have never known this wonderful Pellegrino family.
May my condolences bring her family consolation and peace during this painful time.

It was a pleasure to talk with Alphra at many family gatherings. She never failed to ask after my children and grandchildren and she loved hearing about the little ones. Caring for others was central in her life whether it be for Celeste and the Pellegrino family or for her church family. I admired her for her strong faith, her style and grace, and her independent spirit.
We hope that many happy memories are sources of strength and comfort for all of Alphra’s family.

We are so saddened by the passing of Alphra but we will always recall how she lived her life to its fullest, always had a smile on her face, a twinkle or two in her eye, loved her family and friends, was most welcoming to Jake and our family, and her commitment to church and her faith. Her words, her blessings, her smiles, her tears of happiness and gratitude will always be remembered and cherished.

Dear Celeste and family,
We are so sorry and sad to hear of your dear mother's passing. Alphra was truly an incredible woman in every way. I admired her passion for the things in life that truly matter - her deep love and devotion to her family and friends, her faith, her endless thoughtfulness and caring towards everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, the list goes on! How lucky I was to forge a dear friendship with you while we were in junior high school and the happy and fun memories that we hold so dear! I loved my visits to your home filled with lively conversation, laughs, yummy meals, sleepovers, high school proms, shopping excursions, our weddings - your Mom was warmth and fun and caring personified! May all of the joyful memories you hold so dear be a blanket of comfort and peace as you celebrate your beautiful mother. We send our heartfelt sympathy, love and best wishes to you all. Love, Karen and Al Decot

How blessed we are to have known Alphra for 35 years. Our memories of her grace and elegance throughout the years will
live in our hearts forever. Her family was her greatest joy and her selfless devotion to them was simply amazing.
Alphra always treated us like family whenever we were together for many holidays and gatherings. Alphra and my mom
would often share stories of their travels and life experiences.
We will always remember Alphra as a beautiful person inside and out who lived life to the fullest in such a meaningful
way. She had the most engaging smile and it was always so enjoyable to spend time with her. We admired her upbeat
energy, her strong faith and her independent spirit. Her greatest legacy is her amazing family.
Sending our love and prayers to Celeste, Bruce, Sarah, Jake, Krista and Hannah <3

Alphra was an amazing woman who had contagious energy. She lived each of her 95 years completely. She was a gracious listener always interested in what was going on in your life. Her strong faith gave her great strength. Alphra loved the parties and gatherings but her greatest joy was her family. Our hope is that the Pellegrino Family can find comfort in the many, many happy memories with Alphra.

One of Alphra’s greatest pleasures was to celebrate life, particularly with her family. She was elegance personified, her intellectual curiosity always left one having enjoyed the time spent with her, and uplifted by her positive attitude. She had a long life which she lived to the fullest, filled with family, friends, travel, and activities.
Our thoughts are with the Pellegrino family at this difficult time.

I feel blessed to have known Mrs. Cross through her wonderful family, the Pellegrinos. She represented to me the generation of our parents that were so proud of their children and gave so much as they raised us, the baby boomers. I admired her strength and active life as she aged through her 70's and 80's, always independent and on the go! I also admired how Mrs. Cross had strong faith, remained active through swimming, and drove herself everywhere! She set a wonderful example for all of us of how to accept aging and keep enjoying life. She was an amazing Mom as evidenced through Celeste and the girls. She reminded me of my own mother and I will miss her very much.

Alpha was such an energetic little lady! I remember running into her at King’s where she was loading up on groceries for Celeste and family on the day before they came home from a trip! I loved it when she came to the parties because I could park my Mom next to her and they’d talk all afternoon. And, more often than not Celeste and I and our girls would all end up sitting at that same table to listen to their stories! She was a lovely lady - so gracious to everyone she met!

Celeste, Bruce, Sarah and Jake, Krista and Hannah,
Tatea was such a sweet lady. She AMAZED me every time we saw her! She always had a smile on her face and was completely engaged in whatever the activity we had come to. She held her own in every conversation all the while looking pretty snazzy. I remember being invited to her 90Th birthday party at the Summit Hotel. She had organized it, table seating, bars and a band. Family and friends filling the room. Dancing was part of the evening. I thought to myself, if I could be as engaged in life as she was at that age, I would be blessed. And I would hope to be wearing kitten heels throughout like she did, icing on the cake! I would like to thank her for loving and embracing Jake from the moment she met him. That meant the world to us and I am so glad he got to know and love her thru the past years.
Heaven truly got an angel.
Sending our love and prayers,
Judy, John, Paige and Callie

If you looked up the word "lady' in the dictionary, you would see a picture of Mrs. Cross. She represented everything that is good in people. She loved her family and was always willing to help someone in need. I am proud to have known Mrs. Cross for 20 years. May she rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon her.
