When I heard the news about Casey it hit home as I am sure it did for all of us with a high school senior. How precious life is and also how fleeting it can be. I had the absolute pleasure of coaching Casey in Flag for a couple seasons. He was without a doubt one of my favorite kids. Always ready to go and with such enthusiasm , it was infections. Casey would play center and had terrific hands. So our go to play for two point conversations was called HOG... my nick name for Casey was “hands of glue” and that’s what we called the play designed for Casey . He would snap the ball drift out about 5 yards or so ,do a buttonhook and boom the ball was on him. I can’t recall him ever dropping one No matter how good or bad the pass may have been , thus the nickname and the play name after him HOG “hands of glue”. The Forte family is so sorry for your loss. Casey will be missed but never forgotten.

I had the pleasure and honor of knowing Casey. I first coached him in 3rd-4th grade soccer, where he made one of the most memorable game saves that I can recall.
Casey was involved in the flag football league for every year that I have been the commissioner; initially as a player, then as a referee including this spring when he was promoted to a supervising referee of Freedom 1, fields 1-4. Casey took the job very seriously, he learned the rules very well and was confident with his calls. We were all very excited when he announced his college selection.
Casey's laughter, humor and personality was infectious. Kids like Casey are the reason why I am involved with youth sports. Casey was the personification of enthusiasm for youth sports. I know that Casey was also involved in numerous other MYAA Sports including baseball and track.
Casey will be forever missed and we, the MYAA Board, will discuss an appropriate way to honor his life.
Bill Mead [and all of us at MYAA]

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I had the pleasure of working with Casey every year when Fellowship Alliance Chapel picked up the Student Council Food donations at Shawnee. Casey was always the first one there to help load up my car and the last one to leave. He truly had a servants heart. We had some great conversations and he made me laugh.
We also knew Casey through Shawnee football. Our son Lee who plays on the football team always spoke about Casey and his love for the team and his incredible spirit and support. He was an encourager with true love for others. He was the master of the rally towel. It was a blessing to know such a sweet young man. God Bless you all.

Beth and Craig, I am more sorry than words can say and my heart breaks for both of your families. Casey was a wonderful kid who was always willing to help anyone. You should be so proud of the young man that he'd become. And his love for his family and friends shone through in everything he did. May the memories of that love and all he accomplished in his short life help you through these difficult times. Hugs

Casey Lohne was like a son to the Shine family.
We all love Truly love Casey like part of our own family.
We have so many memories of the boys in the neighborhood having a blast together and Casey always the happiest one in the group.
- Daily Wawa trips
- Boy Scouts
- Indian Guide camping trips
- Burning swing-sets (yes that’s a real thing)
- Getting caught on the Lohne’s roof
- And my favorite: Riding their new bikes into the lake (on purpose)
Casey Lohne.... We love you and you will always be remembered.
