So very saddened by the news of Joe’s passing. We first met in the 6th grade, when my family moved to Gladstone. He was such a special person. In later years, I always enjoyed when I would run into him when visiting my parents. A friend to my father, they enjoyed talking sports, fishing & painting at the “Gladstone Market” or at the art exhibition in the town park. I will always remember his happy smile & am grateful he was a part of my youth. I pray he is now resting in peace. My condolences to All.

I will always remember Joey as a fellow wrestler on Bernards High School first wrestling team 1963-1964. I can still see his smiling face pounding me on the arm as we sat on the bench knowing we were going to beat Bound Brook High School in the biggest upset in high school wrestling that year. My deepest condolences to all the family.

We are so sorry to hear about Joe. He was such a nice man and I enjoyed talking to him when he would come to cut our grass or hunt in our woods. Praying for your family at this sad time.

Paul and I extend our deepest sympathies to Joe’s family. Although I was too young to remember, we grew up as neighbors to the Mongo family. Saying farewell to Joe is like saying goodbye to a part of the “old” neighborhood. Godspeed Joe, on behalf of the Gavurnik family.

This news is received with much sadness. We both have so many memories of Joe, but especially Ed at the coffee shop every morning. They had so many laughs together. We are so sorry that we cannot say goodbye to this special friend in person but our love and prayers are with you. May Joe rest in peace free from his suffering and may your memories bring you comfort.
Love to all,
Ellie and Eddie
