Obituary of Frances M. Placek

Frances Mercurio Placek of Mendham and Flanders died suddenly on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at St. Clares Hospital, Dover. She was 67 years old. Born in Morristown to Louis and Mary Mercurio, she lived in Mendham before moving to Flanders. She married William Placek who passed away December 31, 2010. Frances was a Homemaker, Licensed Practical Nurse working at Overlook Hospital and Morris View Nursing Home and the founder and director of Jersey Battered Women's Shelter. She is survived by her mother Mary Mercurio, a son Thomas Potts of Landing, daughter Kristin Horstman of Flanders, brothers L. Robert Mercurio of Morris Plains and Dennis Mercurio of Candensis, PA and two grandchildren, Ashley Clare and Brendan Louis. Visitation will be on Friday, May 27 from 6-9 at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, NJ. A service will be held Friday at 8:30 PM. For more information visit www.baileyfh.com
