Rich and I send our heartful and loving condolences to Sr. Thomasine's family and all the Sisters of Christian Charity. She was a truly beautiful human being. We are saddened with her passing; but we are so comforted that her suffering is over. She was a true gift to St. Mary's and we always looked forward to her coming to St. Andrew's a few times a month. Everyone loved her.
We know that her parents and Sr. Pietra welcomed her with open arms and she is finally at total peace. We love you Sr. Thomasine!

I shared the following tribute on my FB page in honor of Sister Thomasine and share it for the family and other friends:
This week of Christmas has been filled with joys and sorrows. Tonight our prayers for "Sister T" change as God said, "Come my Beloved!" and called her home to Himself. As we prayed for her so deliberately these past weeks, let us now pray for her beautiful family, community, friends, and companions on the journey, all of whom she loved so dearly on earth and will now continue "blessing from beyond."
All who know her have their many stories of the blessings she imparted and the times she uplifted. These stories will be told and remembered for a long time to come. Tonight upon hearing the news of her transition, I thought about a lesson that stood out: "Put flavor in it. Season it." Sister T put flavor in all she did, whether cooking or cross-stitching or listening or visiting or simply being. She put flavor into every moment in life and she seasoned us all with her life and her love. These homemade sweet potato chips I made tonight are in her memory with thanks for the lessons to "flavor" and "season."
Rest in peace, Sister T.

Sister Thomasine - my first and dearest friend in New Jersey. I was newly married and living out in Wharton, attending daily mass at St. Bernards and ST scooped me up, gave me a job and became my closest friend. There’s no way to portray all the ways she was the hand and heart of God to me, but she was, on many occasions. Like the Little Flower and Mother Theresa, she did grand things on a humble scale. She gave me baby clothes when I had to choose between gas for my car or food for the house. She attended my family parties. She recognized that I was an artist and gave me the chance to direct the children in her original Christmas pageant play at St. Mary’s. She loved me unconditionally. It’s hard to let go, but she, no doubt, looks down from heaven in her healed body and sends God’s best to all. Thank you Sister, I love you! -Marion

I was so blessed to have the privilege of knowing Sr. Thomasine. And it was an honor to care for her at Holy Family Convent. I loved our talks and her stories about growing up in a large family. But most of all I cherish her friendship and all the sound advice she gave me. Although I didn't work on her wing at Mallinckrodt Convent. I enjoyed visiting Sister when my work was finished on my wing. Rest in peace my very dear friend.
