Obituary of James J. Roberts III
James J. Roberts III passed away on August 10, 2018. He was 50 years old.
Jim was born and raised in Springfield, NJ, to parents James and Norah Ann (nee White) Roberts. He graduated from the Dayton Regional High School with National Honors Society Honors and went on to attend and graduate from the University of Delaware. In later years, he would go on to achieve his M.B.A. at the University of Baltimore and was very successful for many years with major corporations. Jim was recognized for his efforts multiple times by the companies he worked for.
Jim will be remembered as a humble and compassionate man who loved volunteering his time with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and his local Neighborhood watch. He was an active parishioner of his local church in Bedford, Texas, who loved to better his community. His acts of kindness extended so far as to give back in death, just as he did in life, by becoming an organ and tissue donor. He was a voracious reader who especially liked to learn about world history. Jim also enjoyed music and was a huge Beatles fan. His love of music was something he was excited to share with his children, Devon and Celia, who now continue to explore the fine arts.
Jim is predeceased by his mother Norah Ann (White) Roberts, and is survived by his parents James J. Roberts Jr. and Adele Roberts, brother Terry Roberts, step-brother Alex Osborne, step-sister Kathleen Noorigian, first wife Sherry and their children Celia and Devon Roberts, his current wife Martita Roberts and her son Sebastian, Aunt Maureen, and many cousins and friends who will all miss him dearly.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 111 Claremont Rd, Bernardsville, NJ 07924, on Saturday, August 25 at 9:30am. A private family burial will take place immediately following. The Roberts family would like to invite friends to continue the celebration of Jim’s life after the services at the Olde Mill Inn, 225 US-202, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations made in Jim’s name to either the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 (www.donate4.cancer.org), or to NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) Somerset, P.O. Box 6653, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 www.NAMINJ.org.
