Obituary of Frank Whitehead

Frank "Dorn" Whitehead of Mendham passed away on Monday, August 30th, 2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Dorn , as he was known by his friends, was born February 3, 1949. He was a 1967 graduate of Morristown High School and a 1971 graduate of Monmouth University. After college, he joined the family floor covering business and became an owner of Whitehead Carpets in Rockaway. He later joined Carpet, et cetera, as a commercial floor covering salesman. Dorn was a resident of Mendham for 26 years and enjoyed coaching his daughters' town soccer teams and participating on the board for many years. He loved boating, golfing, and fishing down at the Jersey shore. His passion for cooking always brought family and friends together. He will be remembered as a fun loving and devoted husband, father, and friend. Dorn is predeceased by his father Frank Whitehead, and is survived by his mother Anne, sister Melanie, wife Phylis, three daughters, Lauren, Melissa, and Jillian, his cherished grandson Brycen, and his "grand-dogs" Lobo and Rocco. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8PM at the Bailey funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. The funeral mass and interment will be private.
