Obituary of Odd N Oddsen

Odd Norman Oddsen died on March 9, 2010 at Morristown Hospital. The family will receive friends for a celebration of his life on Saturday March 13 from 1 - 4 pm at The Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham, NJ. His family and friends will remember him for his positive outlook, great sense of humor, creative abilities, innovative spirit and his love and respect for all. He always encouraged people to dream the impossible dream. To help celebrate his life, please bring a story to share. Born in Brooklyn of Norwegian parents, he was a member of the Sons of Norway. After serving in the Air Force as a Cadet at age 18, he went on to graduate from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. A lifelong entrepreneur and inventor, he has patented many products. He was a past President of the New York Tool and Die Association and a Consultant to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. Most recently he was CEO of Innovative Office Products, Inc. of Easton PA where he founded the company with his son Bud and Wife Wenda in 1986. The Company designs and manufactures Monitor Arms and medical carts and also has a presence in Europe and China. Odd lived in Mendham Township for the past 48 years, where he was an avid tennis player. Survivors include his wife Wenda Buckle Oddsen of Mendham, one son, Odd N. "Bud" Oddsen, Jr. of Easton, PA, four daughters, Ronda Ross of Wharton, Kristine Lamb of Randolph, Deborah Allen of Woodbridge, VA and Katheryn Moyer of Stafford, VA. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, in his memory, would be appreciated. www.baileyfuneral.com
