All these years later and for some reason I came to this page to write something in honor of Odd, or as I referred to him "Odd the Wiser" since I was a friend of his son "Odd the Younger." I visited the tool and die facility he had with his relatives when I was in high school. They were designing parts of a nuclear submarine for the U.S. Navy. I had confidence then and still do now, that was the most watertight and best functioning sub under the sea. So pleasant and easy going, some people that smart have somewhat of an attitude. But Odd was too focused on listening and learning from all around him for any of that.
