Obituary of Inge A Grohn

Inge A. Grohn passed away peacefully at home in Mendham on Feb. 19, 2016. She was 82. Born in New York City, she lived in Brooklyn, Germany and Morris Plains before moving to Mendham 43 years ago. She was a 1955 graduate of New York University/Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing. Inge worked as a Registered Nurse at Bellevue Hospital in New York for several years, then worked as a Stewardess for Pan Am Airlines. Later, Inge spent 20 years at Burgdorff Realtors in Morristown. She attended services at St. Lawrence The Martyr Church in Chester, NJ and was active with her husband in the American Turners in Bronx, NY. She also was a member of the Deutscher Club in Clark, NJ. Her family will remember her as a kind, sweet loving wife and mother who enjoyed her family and helping others. She was an enthusiastic grandmother ,“Omi”, who could find no greater joy than spending time with the grandchildren and a mother who greatly enjoyed the company of her three children. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Karl H. Grohn, one son Karl E. Grohn of Branchburg, two daughters Diane L. Grohn of Morris Plains and Michele M. Spletter of Chester, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher, Marissa and Matthew Spletter and Eric, Lisa and Denise Grohn. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Liturgy Friday 11am at St. Lawrence Church Chester.
