Obituary of Philip W. Gould

Philip W. Gould, beloved husband of Marge (Salvia) Gould passed unexpectedly from this life on November 5, 2015 at their farm in Shunk, PA. Phil leaves behind his wife, Marge, of 54 years and their three children, James of Gladstone, NJ; Debbie Croasdale (Scott) of Milford, NJ; and Grant (Jean) of Rescue, CA. Phil also leaves behind his sisters Marilyn Bennett (Ed) of Washington, NJ; Jackie Petrone (Mike) of Calabash, NC; Gail Domanski (Matt) of Stewartsville, NJ; and Gina Kalvin (Pete) of Peapack, NJ and a brother-in-law, Martin Bush of Colorado Springs, CO. Phil also leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. His father, Jasper, his mother, Opal, and his sister, Irene, predeceased him. Phil was an avid hunter both locally and across the United States and Canada. He was active for many years in bird dog trials and bird hunting, a sport he truly loved and enjoyed. He was a dedicated family man where, on a perfect day, was found sitting around with his family and sharing stories. He enjoyed traveling and hiking, but most importantly he enjoyed being with people. He worked and later owned the family business of Gould’s Well & Pump Company for over 50 years before retiring in 2008 and turning the business over to his son Jim. Those who were fortunate enough to have had him as part of their lives, no matter for how long will sorely miss Phil. Visitation will be held on Sunday Nov.8, from 1-5pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St., Peapack. Remembrances in his name can be made to: Endless Winds Fire Company, 9721 Unit #1 Rt.154, Shunk, PA 17768; Peapack-Gladstone Fire Company, PO Box 615, Gladstone, NJ 07934; Peapack-Gladstone First Aid, PO Box 14, Peapack, NJ 07977 or The Kidney Foundation online at www.kidney.org/donate.
