Father, brother, good friend and businessman, Jack Fennessy passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 17, 2018 at his home in Harding Township. He was 79.
He was born in Orange, NJ to Maurice and Catherine Fennessy and was raised as part of a large Irish-American clan in the town of South Orange. He moved to Gladstone, NJ in 1995 before moving to Harding Township. in 2010.
He was a 1958 graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ, where he was on the varsity Football and Track team (his nickname was Jet-A-Way Jack). He was also a gifted artist and received a scholarship to Newark School of Fine Arts.
Later he entered the insurance business and was the founder and president of the Fennessy Agency in Morristown.
His family will remember him as a devoted friend with a joy for life and a mischievous sense of humor who made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was predeceased by his two brothers Richard and Sonny Fennessy.
He is survived by his daughter Caroline Campion and her husband Tim of Gladstone; two grandchildren, Belle and Conor Campion; his former wife Therese Allebé-Ambrose; and five siblings, sisters Marie “Sissy” Lally, Barbara “Bobbie” Brennan, Gail Middleton, Ellen DeCicco and his brother Gary Fennessy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 23, 2018 from 10-11am at the Bailey Funeral Home in Peapack, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 11am in the funeral home.
