Obituary of Helen Marie Hoagland

Helen Hoagland, 77, formerly of Mendham, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at her home in Altoona, Iowa. She was born Aug. 5, 1939, to Herbert and Evelyn Soberberg in Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Hoagland was a woman of faith and a devoted member of Saints John and Paul Catholic Church in Altoona. She loved volunteering at church, listening to music, spoiling her dogs and spending time with her husband. Survivors include her husband, Rick of Altoona, Iowa; her children, Michael O’Connor of Ledgewood, Maureen O’Connor of Morristown, Kathleen and Nicholas O’Connor of London, U.K., and Kevin and Kristin O’Connor of Concord, N.H.; as well as her grandchildren, Catherine, Elise, Robert and Lauren. She was predeceased by her parents. Graveside services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 8, at Hilltop Cemetery in Mendham.
