Obituary of Gerald B Frino, Sr.

Gerald B. Frino Sr. Army veteran owned Frino Printing and Publishing Gerald B. Frino Sr. passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2017, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was 87. Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 8, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham, N.J., www.baileyfuneral.com Funeral Liturgy is Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Mendham. Born in Orange, N.J., Gerald lived in East Orange, N.J., Union, N.J., and Madison, N.J., before moving to Mendham seven years ago. He was the president of Frino Printing and Publishing in Union, N.J., for a number of years prior to retiring in 1997. Gerald served in the U.S. Army in the early 1950's and was stationed in Europe. He was a longtime member of the Elmwood Tigers Association in East Orange, the Mendham Area Seniors Citizens, and the Knights of Columbus Council 4504 in Union, N.J. He also coached Little League in Union for many years. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who laughed, loved, and lived life to its fullest. His smile, kindness, and profound sense of family will always endure for those who had the privilege of loving him. Gerald was predeceased by his brother, Anthony, and his son-in-law, Wayne Silakowski. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Scaff Frino;their three sons, George Frino and his wife, Anne, of Mendham, Dr. Gerald Frino Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Pompton Plains, N.J., Kenneth Frino and his wife, Karen, of New Providence, N.J.; one daughter, Doreen Silakowski of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
