Obituary of Ethel Spicer Grammer

Far Hills NJ – Ethel S. Grammer passed away at Holly Manor Nursing Home on Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was 103 years old. Born in Virginia to the late Charles and Sara (Courtney) Spicer, she was the youngest of nine children. Mrs. Grammer was a registered nurse, spending most of her career at the Roanoke VA Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1975. She married her late husband Garland in 1936. He predeceased her in June 1960. Survivors include two sons, David, and Dr. Garland Grammer, her daughter Suzanne Bond, twelve grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Brigid R. C. Church, Main Street, Peapack, NJ. Interment will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2018 at 12 NOON at Sherwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Salem Virginia.
