Obituary of Mary Jane Taylor Roome

Mary Jane Roome Obituary Mary Jane Roome passed away on August 12, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born on December 22, 1934 in Farmingdale NJ, the daughter of the late Florence and Harold Taylor. She taught special education in Brookside Elementary School for many years. She has a gift for helping children learn. Many students kept in touch and remained a part of her life. Mary Jane and Greg were avid square dancers with the Mountain Squares and Ironia Reller groups. She was known as “Gracie” as she always evoked a smile or laugh with her stories. Mary Jane was also involved with the St. Hubert’s pet therapy program and enjoyed visiting many places with Royal, a Great Pyrenees dog. She was predeceased by her husband Greg and is survived by her daughter Susan Nelson and husband Geoff of Addison, VT as well as her brother in law George Roome and wife Lois of Freehold, NJ. She is also survived by her dear companion Willard Morris of Freehold, NJ. Visitation for Mary Jane will be held on Wednesday, August 17th from 5-7pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, NJ. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, August 18th 10am, at Hilltop Presbyterian Church, 14 Hilltop Road, Mendham, followed by a burial at Hilltop Cemetery.
