Obituary of Frances M Certisimo

Frances Marie Certisimo passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at home in Gladstone, NJ, on August 3, 2016. Born to Frank Gandolfo and Edna Sonnentag, she grew up in Hoboken attending Demarest High School. Later she moved to North Bergen before moving to Gladstone in 1985. She also enjoyed spending the winter months at her home in Vero Beach, Fl. Fran spent her early years working at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken where she was an administrative assistant in the school of nursing. She also worked at the Far Hills pharmacy for 20 years. She was an active parishioner of St. Brigid Church in Peapack. She was an active supporter of the North Bergen High School Football and Wrestling programs where her husband Art was a teacher and coach. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved traveling to Atlantic City and Ocean City, NJ. She loved spending time with her children and creating memories with her grandchildren while watching them doing the things they loved . She was predeceased by her parents, one brother Julian Gandolfo, and two brothers-in-law Bernard Martin and Frank Prezioso. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Arthur Certisimo, Sr, one son Arthur Certisimo, Jr. and his wife Barbara, one daughter Juliann Bonavolonta and her husband Joe, two brothers; Joseph and Frank (Doreen) Gandolfo, seven sisters; Marie Conroy (George), Margaret O’Brien (Patrick), Dorothy Gandolfo, Cecilia (Bill) Satterwhite, Jean Martin, Ann (Tom) Meehan and Patricia Prezioso and four beloved grandchildren Emily, Nicole, Julia and Joseph and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St. Peapack, NJ 07977. Funeral Mass Saturday 10:30am at St. Brigid Church, Main St. Peapack.
