Obituary of K Clive Ramsey

K. Clive Ramsey passed away at the age of 82 on July 24, 2016, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Mitcham outside of London, England to Frank and Gladys Ramsey, Clive was the oldest of three children and is survived by his younger brother Brian. Clive's younger sister Valerie passed away in 2014. Clive attended The Tiffin School in Kingston upon Thames and then the University of London where he earned a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1957. After graduating, Clive took a job with Canadian Westinghouse and moved to Ontario, Canada. In 1965, Clive met Ingrid Margrethe Friman while both were visiting Rome, Italy. They married a year later and settled in St. Catharines, Canada before moving to Pottersville, NJ in 1970. In 1978, Clive and Ingrid moved to Bernardsville, NJ where they raised their family and resided for the past 38 years. Clive was a successful businessman who became President of US Metal Powders (USMP) in 1976 and subsequently acquired the company. Today, USMP is a thriving multinational company with over 80 employees and many large global customers. Clive remained very active running USMP until recently. Clive will always be remembered as an icon in the metallurgical industry and his strong work ethic, quest for perfection and relentless optimism set an unforgettable example for his employees and family alike. Clive was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and his love and dedication to his family were immeasurable. Clive and Ingrid spent 50 wonderful years together until Ingrid passed away last October. Clive took great pride in his three children, Louise, Patrick and Peter, and was actively involved in their academics and sports through their formative years. Clive was blessed with nine grandchildren and was an integral part of their lives. Clive is survived by his brother Brian Ramsey and his wife Nicolette of Camberley, England and their children Jason and Selena; his daughter Louise Thomas and husband J.T. of Bernardsville, NJ and their children Scott, Annie, and Kate; his son Patrick Ramsey and wife Kristen of Summit, NJ and their children Nicholas, Caroline and Julia; and his son Peter Ramsey and wife Melissa of Summit, NJ and their children Lily, Emma, and Charlie.
