Obituary of Andrew S Polito
Andrew Santo Polito passed away suddenly on April 6, 2016 at home. He was 85.
He was born in Newark, NJ to Frank Polito and Anne Monda Polito.
Mr. Polito graduated from Central High School in Newark and went on to Johns Hopkins University where he graduated with honors on June 10, 1952. He obtained his J.D. from Yale Law School in May of 1955 and was sworn in by the NJ Bar Association in 1956. He was also licensed in NY.
Mr. Polito enlisted in the US Army, serving in France from 1956-1958.
After leaving the military, Mr. Polito joined McCarter and English and in 1962 he founded Mattson, Madden and Polito where he spent the remainder of his career practicing Law.
His family will remember him for his intellectual prowess and dedication to family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Polito was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life Cecile Hand who passed in January of 1994, his brother Ralph Polito and sister Ann Williams.
He is survived by two brothers; Pasquale Polito of Brick, NJ, Frank Polito of Valencia, CA, two step sons; Daniel & Robert Fuller as well as his nieces and nephews; John P. Polito, Kathy Sabatino, Nancy Falzon, Sharon Polito, RJ Williams, Shannon-Williams Egleston, Frank Polito, Robin Polito-Shuffer, Karen and Ray Broussard, Tracey Miralgia, Joanne Polito, and Judy Polito. He is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 10 to 11:45am at Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St. Peapack, NJ. Funeral mass Saturday 12 noon at St. Brigid's Church, 129 Main Street, Peapack, NJ. Interment Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
