Obituary of Della Sommers

Della Sommers passed away suddenly at Arbor Glenn Center in Cedar Grove on April. 1, 2016. She was 88. Born in Newark she lived there many years before moving to Cedar Grove two years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Board of Election in Newark. She also was active in casa Israel in Newark. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons; Alexander Gargas of Burlington Twp, Chris Sommers of Pa, and John Sommers of FL, and three daughters; Barbara Gruber of SC, Julia Sommers and Karen McColligan of Kenvil, NJ. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. A funeral service will be held at 8:30pm. For those desiring, donations to a charity of your choice, in her memory, would be appreciated.
