Obituary of Gloria L. Gray
Gloria Lorraine Gray died on March 21, 2016 in Randolph, NJ. She was 89.
Born in Mendham on October 16, 1926, she was the daughter of Albert Stewart Gray and Edith North Gray. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1944 and later attended Berkeley Secretarial School in East Orange, graduating in 1946. In 1950 she attended the New York School of Interior Design. She was employed by American Brake Shoe in New York City for some years and Silver Burdette Publishing Company for 40 years as a copy editor. She was very active in the Mendham United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and wrote the church letter. Gloria was active in the Evening Woman’s Club of Morristown where she held several offices.
Gloria is predeceased by her brother George Albert Gray of Gulfport, Mississippi.
She is survived by a sister in law Frances Gray, a nephew Lamar Gray and his wife Susan, a niece Mary Jane Gray, a great niece Kristen Miller and her husband David, a great niece Meggan Stolarski an her husband John, a great-great nephew Austin Stolarski, and a great-great niece Avery Stolarski, all of Gulfport, Mississippi. She is also survived by a longtime faithful friend Rhoda Radtke of Mendham and spent many holidays with Ralph Williams and his family of Mendham.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday March 24 at 10am at Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham. For those desiring, donations to the Mendham Methodist Church in her memory would be appreciated.
