Dear Joan, Dear Leslie cs,
We where informed with great sadness about the passing of Alan. We (the Hussems) are so grateful we had the opportunity to actually learn to know Alan and Joan. You not only opened you house for us, but more importantly your hearts, which mend the world to us. We will always remember Alan for his warmth, kindness and showing interest in our family. We all had to cry here in Holland and will continue praying for this soul as well as for you Joan and Leslie cs. A poem of St. Augustine came to mind, which we want to share with you.
Be assured Alan will go to heaven and we will continue are prayers,
Koos & Bernadette Hussem and children.

Don't use a different tone ...
Don't take that look; solemn or sad.
Continue to laugh at that which made us laugh together.
Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be pronounced at home,
As it always was,
Without pomposity or gloom.
Life is still the same,
It is what it always was
The string has not been cut.
Why should I be away from your thoughts?
Just because I am away from your sight?
I am not far, just on the other side of the road..
You see, every thing is fine ...
Wipe your tears and cry no more.
