Obituary of Mary Helen Curtin

Mary Helen Curtin, 52, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015 from small cell carcinoma. She died at home peacefully surrounded by those that loved her. Mary Helen was the eternal "Princess" – so special in many ways. Although mentally handicap, there wasn't anything that Mary Helen did not know nor understand. She had a smile that lite up the room. She loved going to the Midland Adult Workshop as well as listening to music and playing with her cards and puzzles. Every October she looked forward to vacationing in Naples, Florida where she would float in the pool, have dinner out, and go to the Philharmonic for musical performances. She was the proverbial extrovert who always smiled and said hello to everyone she saw regardless if she knew them or not. May we all strive to have that innocence and joy in life. Mary Helen was born in Brooklyn, New York where she lived most of her life before moving to Bedminster, New Jersey. She is survived by her father – Senan J. Curtin of Bedminster, New Jersey and her sister – Francesca Curtin of New York City. Mary Helen joins her mother Vita Curtin in heaven who recently passed from this life a mere two months ago. Visitation will be held Bailey's Funeral Home in Peakpack, NJ on Sunday, January 3rd from 2 – 6PM. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10:30AM at St. Elizabeth Church, Far Hills. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lustgarten Foundation or Union Settlement Association
