TOMS RIVER - Thomas Broadfoot, Jr. died at Green Knoll Care Center in Bridgewater on July 30, 2009. He was 82. Born in Newark to the late Thomas and Rachel (MacSporran) Broadfoot on June 25, 1927, he was a resident of Toms River for many years. He was employed by Gordon Construction in Linden for many years before his retirement in 1997. Mr. Broadfoot was a member of the Atlas Pathagoras Masonic Lodge in Westfield, and served as Worthy Patron for the Order of Eastern Star. He was predeceased by his wife Doris Radcliffe Broadfoot on May 4 , 2009, and was also predeceased by a son William Kiefer . Mr. Broadfoot is survived by two daughters, Janet Petrie and Rachel DiTommaso, a son Thomas III, a brother, James and ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Watchung Presbyterian Church, 325 Watchung Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ. Everyone will meet directly at church. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
