Bill was my colleague over many years, and I was always struck by his kind and gentle spirit. I had immense respect for him as a caring therapist who I know has helped so many people who needed compassion and guidance. My husband was also always so glad to spend time with him and talk farming. Bill was an authentic soul who always had a calming presence. He will be deeply missed by many. We offer our most sincere condolences to Pat.

Farmer Bill was a great man - the best kind of person. I am forever grateful for the childhood memories made on his farm; how he generously opened up his home year after year to a wide group of young tikes to celebrate my birthday. I remember his leadership, taking us on hayrides through fields, helping us up to ride on his horses, and how he would show us that the chicken coop was a safe place despite how freaky it was to be surrounded by that many birds in close quarters. I remember him as a generous and gentle man; a long time dear friend and colleague of my mother, Karen, who always spoke of him affectionately. Thank you for the years of friendship you provided my mother. Rest peacefully William.

Bill was a gentle, warm, kind soul. We have been continually enriched by knowing him and will so greatly miss him! In the last months of his life, he shared with me how grateful he was to have had such a blessed life, both living at the farm in the life he loved with his cherished animals, and to have found Pat, the great love of his life. I asked him if he was angry at the hand he was dealt.....in only the way that Bill could respond, he said, "I look at the obituaries and I see people, some much younger than me and I feel grateful that I have had a happy, healthy life doing what I love....I have no anger or regrets."
We are so grateful too, Bill, for having had you in our lives for as long as we did. We shared delightful trips to the Opera, memorable birthday parties of our young children on the farm, and even a trip to Monmouth Race track.
We will always cherish our memories of you, and the many thoughtful conversations over the years. Rest in peace our dear friend.

It is with great sadness that I heard about the passing of one of my high school friends. I remember some very good times and laughter during those years. I have memories of MYF, and Rich, Jon, Bill and I serving as ushers during many services at the Methodist church.
I hope for peace and comfort to Bill's family.

Bill, or as we affectionately referred to him in our home, Farmer Bill, was a staple of my childhood. Having birthday parties at his farm brought great joy and incredible memories to my younger years. He was a kind, caring man with a huge heart. He was a dear friend and colleague of my mom's and I always had the utmost respect and admiration for him. And it doesn't hurt that his chickens' eggs are delicious! We are long-time fans in our home. We love him and will greatly miss his presence in our lives. Sending big hugs and tons of love to Pat and his family.

Oh boy, about 30 years ago Bill took me to his basement at the old homstead in Denville to tast some wine he had made. Bill doesn't talk much and I talk too much so it was a good combination. Well he gave me a glass of pear wine that he made and it was the best wine I had ever had. Robin and I talked about this this morning. Robin and I have had wine from all over including our trip to France and to this day I still tell people of the best wine I ever had. It remains a wonderful memory. God Bless. Jim kent

We are grateful to have had you touch our lives and to teach Erin how to ride a horse, your tractor, all about chicks, chickens, roosters and eggs. Both you and Pat always made us feel welcome and you understood the human spirit and always gave some comic relief in your special subtle way. We will miss you but will never forget.
