Obituary of Phyllis E Brubaker

MILFORD PA - Phyllis E. (DeCoster) Brubaker died on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Hackettstown Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was 79. Born to the late Joseph and Elvira (Conlon) DeCoster in New Brunswick, NJ on June 27, 1930, she lived in Maplewood New Jersey from the mid 1950's until the mid 1970's and was a resident of Califon, NJ for many years before moving to Milford PA in 2006. She attended Katharine Gibbs School, NY, NY. She was the office manager for Brubaker Tree Experts in Maplewood NJ for many years before her retirement in 1992. Mrs. Brubaker was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and regularly volunteered at the food pantry of the Long Valley Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Richard G. Brubaker; four children, Linda Conway Becker of Pleasantville, NY, Michael Conway of Califon, NJ, Heidi Conway McCrossan of Brick Township, NJ and R. PatrickConway of Brick Township, NJ; five stepchildren, Lauren Schweikert of Searsport ME, Robin Wolf of Pine Brook, NJ Rev. Tom Brubaker of Spokane WA, Jessie Fleming of La Jolla CA, and Amy Donahue of Boston MA; two sisters, Nancy Ballard of Cumming, GA, and Mary Umbehauer of South Hampton, NJ; twenty-eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be from the funeral home on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Luke's Parish, 265 West Mill Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853. Graveside services will be private for the family immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Brubaker to the Long Valley First Aid Squad, PO Box 111, Long Valley, NJ 07853, and would be appreciated by the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
