Obituary of Richard Andrew Nykun

Richard Andrew Nykun died peacefully on Saturday June 27, 2009 at his home in Mendham. He was 60. Born in Newton NJ he grew up in Great Meadows. He has lived in Mendham for the last 25 years. Rich was an Engineer who worked as an Estimator for Foster Wheeler in Perryville, NJ for the last 34 years before retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Mendham Borough Board of Adjustment and was active in coaching youth sports in Mendham. His family will remember him as a selfless and devoted father and husband, always ready with a joke to make people smile, and friend to many. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Lischick Nykun, one son Jeffrey Nykun of Manhattan, NY. Three daughters Jodi Nykun of Arlington, VA, Amanda Nykun of Arlinton, VA and And Abigail Nykun of Mendham, NJ; and his parents Andrew and Marjorie Nykun of Great Meadows, NJ. He is also survived by his sister Debra Nykun of Plant City, FL and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 30th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Service Wednesday 11am in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
