Obituary of Daniel R. Conicelli, Jr.

Daniel R. Conicelli, Jr. died at his home in Long Valley on June 12, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 65. Born in Morristown he has lived in Long Valley for the last 40 years. Mr. Conicelli served in the Army from 1960-1962. He was an Electrician for the I.B.E.W. 102 in Parsippany for the last 45 years before retiring in 2005. He served on the Executive Board for 6 years and as Recording Secretary for 6 years. Dan was a volunteer for the 4-H fair and a member of many sporting clubs. He was an avid fisherman and hunter which he enjoyed with his grandsons, and his German Shorthaired Pointers. He found pleasure with his grandchildren at the beach and camping. His family will remember him as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather. Survivors include his wife Lona Bailey Conicelli; his parents Daniel R. Conicelli, Sr. and Albertina Berg Conicelli; three daughters Teana Hmiel of Lincoln University, PA, Lona Jessen of Springfield, NJ, and Carol Conicelli of Long Valley. He is also survived by one sister Terry Zimmer of Harding Twp. and his 4 grandchildren Christopher Conicelli, Brendan, Erin and Caitlin Hmiel. Visitation will be held on Monday June 15, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hillltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, Schooley's Mountain. For those desiring, donation to the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, in his memory, would be appreciated.
