Obituary of Anthony Joseph Palmieri, Jr.

Anthony Joseph Palmieri, Jr., died suddenly on March 5, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 81. Born in Morristown, he lived in Morris Plains before moving to Mendham 48 years ago. He was a proud member of the Morristown High School class of 1952 and served in the Air Force from 1952-1956 during the Korean War. Mr. Palmieri was the owner of Tony’s Super Mobil in Bernards Township for 20 years, prior to that he owned a Texaco Service Station in Denville. He also worked as Pro Shop Supervisor at Pinch Brook Golf Course in Florham Park. He was an active member of the Mendham United Methodist Church. His will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to laugh, play golf, and spend time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Joan Chambers Palmieri, two sons; David Palmieri of Chatham, NJ and Don Krudop of Virginia Beach, VA, one daughter; Sharon Twitchell of Youngsville, NC and one sister Theresa Provenza of Mendham. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren Rebecca Rowles, David Twitchell, James and Marc Krudop, and Jonathan, Andrew and Matthew Palmieri. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Service Tuesday 11 am at the Mendham United Methodist Church. Interment Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the the Mendham United Methodist Church, in his memory.
