Obituary of Archie Ingrassia

Archie Ingrassia passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Bridgewater after suffering a stroke. He was 75. Born in Newark to the late Anthony and Mary (Lavecchia) Ingrassia on January 17, 1939, he was raised in Irvington and also resided in Harding Twp. before moving to Bedminster 40 years ago. Mr. Ingrassia was co-owner and vice president of Ingrassia Construction Company. He was a member of the Bedminster Board of Adjustment since being appointed to the board in 1987. He was the past-president of the Executive Association of NJ, and a trustee of the Building Contractors' Association of NJ. He was also past-president of the Associated Contractors of Essex County and had attended NJIT. He was a member and Trustee of St. Elizabeth's R. C. Church in Far Hills for many years. Mr. Ingrassia had also served two tours of duty in the Air National Guard Reserve from 1957-1963. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Denise (nee Nuttman), his daughter Katherine and her husband Ed Padewski of Long Valley; his son Matthew and his wife Wendy of Mount Olive; two brothers, Anthony and his wife Gloria of Watchung, and Eugene and his wife Patricia of Wayne; his sister Frances Iezzi and her husband Raymond of Mountainside; and three grandsons, Jonathan and Nicholas Padewski, and Andrew John Ingrassia; and one granddaughter Alaina Padewski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 9:30 AM at St. Brigid R. C. Church,129 Main Street, Peapack. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity in Archie's memory.
